Ping Coombes was Masterchef Champion in 2014. She grew up eating her mother’s Malaysian food, which sometimes involved days of preparation. When she left home she learned to cook in order to recreate the food she loved. After being made redundant, a friend persuaded her to enter Masterchef and the rest is history! Now she describes her food as casual Malaysian food with a twist. She demonstrates regularly at food shows and hosts pop ups and supper clubs. Her first book is Malaysia: Recipes from a Family Kitchen.
