An inspirational week developing confidence in the kitchen with inclusive accommodation at The Abbey Hotel set right next to Bath Abbey and with views accross to Pulteney Bridge.
Based on Richard’s book, COOK, the course provides a thorough grounding in all the key kitchen skills as well as passing on a wealth of hints, tips and secrets. We will show you how to hone your knife skills, learning to joint meat and fillet fish, master the essential stocks and sauces, create fabulous pastry, learn the best way to cook fish and discover how to put it all together and present your food beautifully, creating unlimited menus for entertaining. Every day is fully hands on and includes a light lunch with a glass of wine. Participants will take home an apron and a signed copy of COOK
The Abbey Hotel is a short walk from The Bertinet Kitchen, and is a great place to lay your weary head after a day's cooking. Recently purchased by acclaimed hoteliers, Ian and Christa Taylor, the hotel includes The new Allium Brasserie, a foodie’s heaven, under the skilled hand of the formerly Michelin starred chef, Chris Staines. The Brasserie is open all day, with a sunny pavement terrace for watching the world go by on warm days. Our front desk team, experts in what to see and do in Bath, will be delighted to help you with your travel plans and must-see attractions whilst you’re with us in this lovely city.
When you arrive, we’ll greet you with a restorative glass of Champagne (or the drink you prefer) and complimentary bar snacks prepared by Chris.
Your stay is from Sunday to Thursday inclusive in a double room for single occupancy on a bed & breakfast basis.
Your stay at The Abbey Hotel includes free WiFi, full English breakfast, service and VAT. Our Large Double rooms include king sized beds, toiletries by Anne Semonin, views of the Gardens and Abbey, slipper and bathrobes.
