Nathan Outlaw wins South West heat of Great British Menu

added 30th April 2010

We were delighted to see Nathan winning the South West heat of BBC2's Great British menu today, with a unanimous judges' vote.  He was particularly praised for his brilliantly locally sourced menu and his spectacular starter, a ham hock with pea puree and wholemeal bread.  We wish him the best of luck for the finals.

Nathan is teaching a class with us on Monday 28th June.  Click on the title of this item to expand to show related links, then follow the related link to to read more about the class and book your place.

Adverse Weather Update & Policy

added 13th January 2010

Current Status as at 13 January 2010, 7.30pm

We had snow in Bath last night but it is very wet and appears to now be melting.   Main roads have been open all day and trains in and out of Bath are running.  Buses were running from mid-morning today.  As the weather is predicted to be warmer tomorrow we are not anticipating any disruption to either our bread class tomorrow or the classes on Friday and Saturday.

The Bertinet Kitchen

Adverse weather policy

As stated in our Terms and Conditions, we are not able to offer refunds or late notice amendments to classes where customers are unable to reach us due to adverse weather conditions.  You may be able to claim on any travel insurance policies you have or took out to cover your trip to us.

You should take your own decisions as to whether it is safe to travel to us in Bath.  We do not encourage anyone to take any risks.

In the event that you are unable to reach us you may send someone else in your place.  Please telephone us to let us know if this is the case.

We understand that, where adverse weather conditions are concerned, it is not your fault that you are not able to reach us.  Please understand that it is also not our fault.  We have to go ahead and run our classes where even just one person is able to make it to the kitchen.

If you are unable to attend a class please let us know as soon as you can.  As a goodwill gesture we will try and offer customers an alternative class at a later date.  This will be entirely at our discretion and may not be for the same class that you were originally booked for or for the same day of the week.  It may also be at short notice.
