Join Richard for this new and very special crêpes and savoury galettes Lunch and Learn workshop on Shrove Tuesday.
The workshop will start with Richard demonstrating a savoury galette complète recipe using buckwheat flour. This will be filled with a béchamel along with some cheese and ham. He’ll also be showing you other filling variations, such as adding spinach and mushrooms. The sides of the galette will then be folded in, an egg cracked into the centre and then baked in the oven to finish off. A pancake with of course Richard’s added French flair. This is an extremely versatile galette that will be perfect for many different savoury fillings on Shrove Tuesday or as something different for a weekend brunch.
There will also be sweet crêpes, traditional lemon and sugar with a Bertinet twist of course and one filled with a seasonal orange and rhubarb compote raising the simple pancake to new heights.
Once the demonstration has finished, you will get to enjoy the galettes and crêpes as lunch with a glass or two of Breton cidre. We are also including a crêpe spreader and rateau in the cost of the class so that you can achieve deliciously thin pancakes at home. You will also leave us with full recipes.
This is a demonstration Lunch and Learn workshop and includes lunch with wine and a crêpe spreader and rateau. The workshop will start at 11am and finish at approximately 2.30pm. Finish times can vary on each class, but this is a good guide.
