Expressions, Art in Pastry
We are thrilled to welcome back the incredibly talented Julie Jones to The Bertinet Kitchen. To celebrate the release of Julie’s third book ‘Expressions, Art in Pastry’ she will be teaching a brand new class focussing on her latest techniques.
The class will include baking two large tarts, one sweet and one savoury. There will be the opportunity to practice with both free style and template designs. Julie has also promised to demo some as yet unseen techniques for using edible paint to enhance your masterpieces.
Julie is a mum of three who lives in Cumbria. She retrained as a chef in 2008 and, following an inspiring stage at the Fat Duck in 2009, dreamed of working in a Michelin starred kitchen. Shortly after, Julie’s mother was diagnosed with an aggressive form of dementia. They started baking together as a mutual form of therapy and Julie shared images of their creations on Instagram. Her eye-catching bakes and emotional outpourings resonated with thousands around the world and turned her into an Instagram sensation.
Expressions, Art in Pastry is Julie’s third book and is released in Autumn 2022.
