Angela was a protégé of Gordon Ramsay and was the first woman to run the kitchen at Menu at The Connaught where she won her first Michelin star. She opened Murano with Gordon Ramsay in 2008, was awarded a Michelin star in 2009 and took the opportunity to become sole owner in 2010. She has since opened the more relaxed Café Murano. Her most recent ventures are Hartnett Holder & Co at The Limewood Hotel and Merchant Tavern in Shoreditch.
Angela’s love of food was instilled in her by her Italian grandmother and mother and she has collected together family recipes gathered over years in her two books: Angela Hartnett’s Cucina: Three Generations of Italian Family Cooking and A Taste of Home. She was awarded an MBE for her service to the hospitality industry in 2007.
