In response to customer demand we are offering a date for Richard’s classic one day Introduction to Bread Making class in an online virtual format. The course will run exactly as our in person classes do but through the major of zoom. You will need to keep your camera on through the class to enable Richard to give you feedback and so that he can chat with the class. Several weeks ahead of the class you will be sent a list of simple ingredients that you will need to obtain and let us know if there is anything that you could not obtain.
The Introduction to Breadmaking is a must for beginner bakers, regular home bakers and experts alike. Richard will take you back to basics. This is the course where you will learn and fine tune Richard’s method of working the dough and show the dough who’s boss so you can confidently bake bread at home.
There will be plenty of hands on dough time and an introduction to moulding and shaping, something that is needed to progress to Richard’s more advanced bread making days.
Your skills will be honed while you focus on working with both a white and an olive oil enriched dough. From these you will make a variety of breads including tin loaves, fougasse, olive and pecorino bread sticks and a focaccia.
By the end of the class you will have flashed your first fougasse grin and will have baked a host of different breads.
“I just wanted to thank you again so much for a wonderful days baking. Both Frances and I thoroughly enjoyed the day, particularly your very friendly and relaxed style of instruction. You made us feel very welcome and we both loved your passion for bread and your simple approach to baking. It was great fun!!” Mr M
