Come and join Richard Bertinet for this new Summer Provençal Food and Wine Tasting Workshop where you will be baking and cooking classic recipes from Provençal and pairing the food with some perfect wines.
We will feature some classic recipes from the region such as a socca Niçoise, a type of rustic flatbread very popular in Nice given a rich, nutty flavour from the olive oil with a moist centre and crispy edges which will leave you reaching for a second slice. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we can extend outdoors with our Gozney ovens to fire the socca Niçoise. No Provençal cooking class would be complete without aioli and this will of course receive the Richard Bertinet twist. Further dishes could include Brandade, a whipped salt cod appetiser perfect to go with the socca Niçoise and a baked goats cheese coated with lavender infused honey. This will all be rounded off with a Provençal sweet treat such as some lemon madeleines and lavender ice cream.
We will extend your wine knowledge with some excellent Provençal rosés along with a white and red from the South of France, perfect summer time drinking. Additional glasses of wine can be purchased while you are with us. We will be providing you with pairing notes along with all the recipes for you to impress your guests when you recreate the menu in your own home.
This is the perfect workshop as a gift or a great class to come on your own or with a group of friends. You will leave us with lots of new recipes to recreate at home and some knowledge on wines from the southern region of France.
The workshop starts at 11am and will finish at 2pm.
