Looking for a fun activity for a group of friends or family and need to find something that will appeal to all ages? Or maybe you’d like to plan something that little bit different for your company team building event or party?

We can provide inspirational and fun cooking events for you to enjoy with your friends, family or work colleagues.

There are lots of options available and we can work with you to make sure you end up with just the event you’re looking for.

The cookery school has a very busy diary running our classes, so please do get in touch with as much notice as possible so that we can fit you in!

Hands on classes with lunch or dinner

Our most popular format for groups of 8 to 20 people, your group will work together to create a delicious 3 course menu which you will then sit down to enjoy.

Our menus can be tailored to suit any allergies or eating restrictions within the group and will be compiled to ensure that we have the opportunity to teach you plenty of tricks of the trade and new techniques.

Choose from our wine list to complement your menu.

Workshops & half days

If you are looking for something a little shorter, then our 2 hour workshops or 3 hour half day sessions may well be what you need.

For 2 hour work shops choose from a range of courses including Perfect steak & chips, Provencal apero, Tart making or Classic Italian pizzas. With a little more time, our 3 hour classes enable you to cover more complicated pastries, knife skills or pasta making.

Workshops available for groups from 14 to 24 or up to 30 across both kitchens. Half days are available for groups of 8 to 20. Larger groups can be accommodated at off-site venues for certain class formats.

Meetings & Catering

For clients booking a cooking event, we are also happy to host your meetings and provide catering. This can be worked around your cookery class to build a day that suits your needs.

Some of our clients like to use this format for board or team away days. Arrive with us in the morning for breakfast of sourdough toast with homemade jams and marmalades together with bacon butties. Hold your meeting in the morning before we serve you a light buffet lunch, then get down to some hard work in the kitchen in the afternoon to learn some new skills and prepare a delicious 3 course meal for your dinner.

Virtual Events

From October 2020 to March 2021 we are offering Virtual events over Zoom enabling your team to take part in a fun event together while remaining socially distanced at home. Topics are simple enough to be done remotely. For break-making classes, ingredients can be despatched to your team in advance while for other classes where more perishable produce is required short shopping lists containing products easily found in all supermarkets will be provided for you to circulate to your team.

The opportunities to be involved in a two way interaction with the teaching chef are determined by the number of participants.

On the road

Away from the kitchen, Richard is available to do demonstrations, events and hands on classes for groups of any size. Whether it is a light hearted food demonstration for a large conference gathering, a series of courses you would like to host or a private lesson we are happy to consider any requests.

Whether it is round the corner or the other side of the globe, Richard is happy to travel. Previous bookings have taken him from London and the South East, across Europe and to the Middle East, the USA and Thailand.

Venue Hire

The kitchens in our beautiful and historic school are available to hire for your own event, photoshoot or filming.

You can opt to hire one of the kitchens or both together and we can provide a range of supporting services depending on your needs.

Christmas events

Fed up with the same old works Christmas lunch – then join us for Corporate Christmas.

Your party of up to 20 will prepare a 3 course Christmas lunch then sit down together to enjoy it.

The menu can be tailored to suit your requirements and can be as challenging as you like.

Available dates in December are limited so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred date.

Virtual Christmas

All of the fun but no risk. Learn how to make a wonderful classic Christmas bake including frangipane topped mince pies or Prune & cardamon bread.

Participants will be sent a short shopping list in advance with plenty of time to obtain their ingredients.

Then at the appointed time let the fun and flour throwing commence.

Events are designed around you and your team, so do get in touch and we can structure something that works for you.
